Two, three or four days: what each gives a group
Updated 26 October 2026
How long should a group give Komodo by boat? Two days with the sunrise at Padar cost IDR 58,000,000 (≈ USD 3,558) on Senada Phinisi for 1 to 8 guests, three days cost IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) and four days cost IDR 91,000,000 (≈ USD 5,583). Each longer trip adds a slow morning.
What two days contain
Two days is the whole classic loop. Day 1 runs from the pickup before an 11:00 start, to lunch aboard, Kelor, the trek at Rinca and the sunset at Kalong. Dinner is on board.
Day 2 starts with the sunrise walk on Padar, at 06:18 in July. Breakfast follows, then Pink Beach, lunch, the snorkel at Taka Makassar and the snorkel at Manta Point. You are back in Labuan Bajo on day 2, and the hour depends on the sea.
Everything is in two days, and nothing is left over. Two days suit a long weekend, a first trip and a group with one night to spare. They are the shortest trip we run, because the stops are too far apart for one day.

What the third day adds
The third day adds one thing: a slow morning. Breakfast, a snorkel at Siaba or Sebayur, and the sail back to Labuan Bajo, around midday. The captain decides on the day which of the two islands.
It sounds small. For a group it is the difference between hurrying to the airport and sitting down once. People have time to pass the snorkel and to talk about the sunrise. The route gives the group a second night aboard too; where the boat lies that night follows the weather and the captain's decision.
Book flights after 14:00 on the last day. A Friday start gets you home before the working week begins.

Day 4 and the slower route
Day 4 is a sample route. It repeats the first two days. Day 3 adds a walk on Komodo Island, a snorkel at Siaba or Sebayur and dinner on board. Day 4 belongs to Kelor, unscheduled: walk, swim, then settle on the beach.
The final order is confirmed with the captain and in writing before you pay. There is no open-trip seat for 4 days, so a four-day trip is always a whole-boat charter.
Around midday the boat is back in Labuan Bajo, so a flight after 14:00 is safe. Four days suit a group with grandparents or small children who want afternoons without a schedule, and friends who are on a proper holiday.

A group of grandparents, children or friends
Grandparents who skip the Padar climb can manage two days, and four days suit them if the pace matters more than the sights. For children, a third day means more time in the water and a snorkel with a life jacket on.
For friends, three days gives two evenings: the first to catch up, the second for the karaoke set and the bean bags. The last morning is for the flights home.
For hikers, two days fit the Padar sunrise and the Rinca walk, and three days leave the Saturday to the snorkels. Find out how much each person wants to walk.

One sentence of advice per kind of group
Two days if the group has a long weekend, a first visit to Labuan Bajo and a taste for early alarms.
Three days if the group wants one sit-down morning and the snorkel at Siaba or Sebayur, and if the seats on a Friday suit the diary.
Four days if the group includes young children or grandparents, or if the aim is to rest more than to see. Take the whole boat, and ask us for the sample route in writing.
Whatever the choice, we confirm the route, the cabins and the price in writing before you pay.
Put the three lengths to the group as three lines, with the price per head next to each, and ask for a thumb on one. The thumbs settle it faster than another long message.
