Senada Phinisi
Twelve kinds of group, one boat
Updated 26 October 2026
Komodo boat trip ideas for families and friends: Senada Phinisi takes up to 18 guests in 6 cabins, and each page below works out the cabins and the sum for one kind of group. Seats on a shared sailing start at IDR 4,000,000 (≈ USD 245).
Who books Senada, and why
Senada gets booked by families of three generations, friends at a reunion, hikers who like early starts, couples on a shared sailing, people travelling alone and groups watching the budget. Each of them has a page here.
The boat is the same for all of them: a phinisi with six cabins and room for 18, a karaoke set, a sundeck with bean bags and a canoe. What changes is who sleeps where, how the days are shared out, and whether the group takes the whole boat or seats.
Corporate teams, divers, honeymooners, photographers, graduates and others have pages too, and the grid shows every one.
How to choose between the pages
Start with how many of you there are. From six people up, look at the whole boat first; for one to four, look at seats. The compare page puts a number on it, and on 3 days the line falls at 11 guests.
Next, decide what matters most: a balcony, the lowest fare, the Padar sunrise or the karaoke. Read the page that fits that answer, and the rest falls into place.
Big families go to the family page, friends splitting a bill to the friends page, and walkers to the hiking and snorkelling page. Couples have their own page, and so do people travelling solo.
What every group trip shares
Every page ends in the same place: a message to us with your group size and dates. We confirm the cabins and the price in writing before anyone pays.
Every trip follows the same loop: Kelor, Rinca, sunset at Kalong, sunrise on Padar, Pink Beach, the sandbank at Taka Makassar, Manta Point, plus Siaba or Sebayur on a third morning. On the day, the order of the stops is the captain's call.
Every price comes from the same set of figures. Park tickets, flights, hotels and tips are never included, and a private price leaves out the guide and the documentation. The one limit that applies to everyone: a party of more than 18 won't fit on this boat.
FAQ
Which trip suits a big family?
The family page plans three generations across the cabins, with the grandparents in the Deluxe Ocean Suite and the children close by, and it marks the slow morning on the 3-day plan. From 9 guests take the whole boat; a smaller family can book seats.
Which trip suits friends?
The friends page splits the bill for 12 or for 18, sorts pairs, trios and quads into the six cabins, and covers the karaoke set and the sundeck after dark. Friends landing on different days should read the late-arrival section before they book.
Can a group mix ages?
Yes. Children up to 2 travel free; from 3 they count as full-fare guests. At Padar and Rinca, grandparents and small children decide on the day how far they climb. The cabins are easy to mix: the Superior Suites take two, the Panoramic Suites up to four.
Can we mix divers and non-divers?
Not for diving on this boat. Snorkel gear is on board but diving is not offered, so divers who need tanks should choose another boat. Divers happy to snorkel with everyone else are welcome, and the diving page explains the limit.
