The cheapest way for 4, for 8 and for 12
Lowest per person depends on how many you are. For four people the whole boat is IDR 18,250,000 (≈ USD 1,120) each on 3 days, and the seats are lower. Four Superior seats are one fare each, and there are two Superior Suites, so four is the limit for that fare on one sailing.
For eight people the boat is IDR 9,120,000 (≈ USD 560) each. Seats are still lower, but they spread across cabin types: Superior, Deluxe Ocean and Panoramic. For twelve the boat is IDR 6,500,000 (≈ USD 399) each, which is below the Panoramic seat at IDR 7,450,000 (≈ USD 457) and below the Deluxe Ocean seat at IDR 6,700,000 (≈ USD 411).
So: four, take seats. Eight, compare the two. Twelve and above, the boat is the lower fare against two of the three seats, and the group has the deck to itself. The Superior seat stays the lowest at every size.

The lowest seat: the Superior Suite fares
The Superior Suite is the lowest fare on the boat. On a Friday it is IDR 5,300,000 (≈ USD 325) for 3 days, and on a Monday or Wednesday it is IDR 4,000,000 (≈ USD 245) for 2.
Two guests share its queen bed; there is no extra bed and no balcony. The cabin has a low beamed ceiling and carved motifs on the hull wall, and it has its own bathroom, air conditioning and hot water, like the others.
Both Superior fares include the guide and the documentation, which a private price leaves out. If your budget is tight and your dates are a Friday, a Monday or a Wednesday, start here.

Two days against three, per person
Two days against three, for twelve guests. The boat for 2 days is IDR 5,250,000 (≈ USD 322) each, and for 3 days it is IDR 6,500,000 (≈ USD 399) each. The third day adds to each person's share, and what it buys is the slow last morning and the snorkel at Siaba or Sebayur.
For eighteen guests, 2 days are IDR 4,170,000 (≈ USD 256) each and 3 days are IDR 5,330,000 (≈ USD 327) each. Each per-person amount is rounded to the closest ten thousand rupiah.
On seats, 2 days is IDR 4,000,000 (≈ USD 245) in a Superior Suite, against IDR 5,300,000 (≈ USD 325) for 3. The price below shows the whole boat for 2 days, band by band.

What is on top: tickets, flights, tips
Park tickets are paid per guest and sit outside every price. For a foreign guest the ticket is IDR 250,000. Indonesian guests: IDR 50,000 on weekdays, IDR 75,000 on weekends. Ranger levies and pier levies are added on top, and both can change.
Flights to Labuan Bajo and hotels before and after the trip are not in any price. Tips are not either. The guide and the documentation are in a seat and not in a private price; on request, we quote them separately.
What is included in both: the transfers, the meals, snacks, tea, coffee, drinks and snorkel gear.

One package covers the government entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024), the ranger fee and the local levies. It is quoted per guest, separate from the boat price. For other trip lengths, the desk quotes the package with your booking.

A budget that holds for the whole group
Build the budget in four lines, one person at a time. The boat or the seat. The park ticket. The flights. The hotel nights either side. Add them for one person, then multiply by the head count.
Agree the ceiling per person before you look at the cabins. A figure on the table saves a long argument later.
The boat is held with a deposit of 50%, and what remains is paid 30 days before departure. Ask the organiser to collect in two instalments, to match: the first when the boat is held, the second a month before departure. Anyone who drops out before the balance date changes the sum, so check the refund table on the terms page first.

What is the lowest-cost way to see Komodo by boat?
The lowest fare per person is a Superior Suite seat: IDR 5,300,000 (≈ USD 325) on a 3-day Friday sailing, or IDR 4,000,000 (≈ USD 245) on a 2-day Monday or Wednesday sailing. Only two Superior Suites exist, so one sailing holds four such seats. Park tickets are extra.
Do children pay full price?
From age 3 the full price applies, for a seat and for the whole boat. A parent or guardian brings a child aged 0 to 2 at no charge. Send us the ages. The numbers and the cabin plan come back to you in writing, and only then do you pay.
How much are park tickets?
Park tickets: IDR 250,000 for a foreign guest. An Indonesian guest pays IDR 50,000 on weekdays or IDR 75,000 at weekends. It is paid per guest and never included in a price. Ranger and pier levies are separate.
Are there hidden costs?
The costs outside the price are park tickets, flights, hotels before and after, tips, and on a private trip the guide and the documentation. Anything else we mention in writing before you pay. Our written confirmation lists these lines.
