Komodo phinisi for friends and family groups: Senada Phinisi sleeps up to 18 guests in 6 cabins. Take the whole boat from IDR 58,000,000 (≈ USD 3,558) for 2 days, and we show what that comes to per person. Smaller groups can book seats on a shared departure, from IDR 4,000,000 (≈ USD 245).
Senada is booked whole. For 3 days, 1 to 8 guests pay IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) for the boat, and 9 to 12 guests pay IDR 78,000,000 (≈ USD 4,785). From the thirteenth guest up to 18, each person adds IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184).
Then comes the division, the job nobody volunteers for. Twelve friends share IDR 78,000,000 (≈ USD 4,785), so each pays IDR 6,500,000 (≈ USD 399). With all eighteen aboard it is IDR 96,000,000 (≈ USD 5,890), or IDR 5,330,000 (≈ USD 327) a head. The table below does every group size from 2 to 18.
Two-day and four-day trips work the same way, with bands of their own. Park tickets, flights, hotels either side of the trip and tips are never included. Guide and photo-and-video coverage are extras on a private charter; ask, and we'll quote them separately.
You can already book 2027. Until the 2027 prices are issued, the October 2026 ones apply, and we confirm the figure in writing before anyone pays.

Not every group fills eighteen places. If there are two or four of you, a seat is the easier way aboard, sold cabin by cabin on the shared departures.
The next departure is Wednesday, 4 November 2026, and 25 dates are on the calendar. We confirm your cabin on WhatsApp before you pay.
A Superior Suite seat costs IDR 4,000,000 (≈ USD 245) for 2 days or IDR 5,300,000 (≈ USD 325) for 3; a Panoramic Suite seat, IDR 5,700,000 (≈ USD 350) or IDR 7,450,000 (≈ USD 457). The days are set out below. Pickup from your hotel or the airport comes before an 11:00 start, and the last day ends back in Labuan Bajo around midday, so book flights after 14:00. The captain fixes the order of the stops once each day begins. Which spot the boat takes for the night comes down to the weather and the captain's call.
Saturday starts early. Sunrise on Padar is at 06:18 in July, the path up is proper stairs, so agree as a group, the night before, who climbs.

Stops that can swap places on the day: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.
Pickup comes before the 11:00 start and is the one fixed hour. Every other time on this page is a planning guide, and the captain sets the stop order on the day.
The sundeck is a big open space under the sky, with bean bags and a sofa. Next to it are an outdoor chill area and the indoor dining area, where the Senada Phinisi sign hangs on the wall.
For the evenings there's a karaoke set, plus a TV with a Bluetooth sound system. At the beaches the canoe goes in and everyone gets a turn. Snorkel gear is on board, along with free-flow mineral water, tea, coffee and milk.
Senada means in tune, and seirama, moving to the same rhythm, sits right beside it. Both suit a boat full of people who know each other well. Dinner, the sundeck and the songs are for everyone; a cabin door that closes, or a quiet corner of the bow, is for whoever wants an hour alone.

The indoor dining area, with the Senada Phinisi sign on the wall, is where the whole group sits down to the same meal.

The lounge has a cushioned daybed, a TV, a Bluetooth speaker system and the karaoke set. Sing, or leave it to those who do.
Six cabins make 18 places. The two Panoramic Suites on the upper deck take up to 4 guests each, and both have a balcony. On the main deck, a third Panoramic Suite takes up to 3 and has a balcony too, and the Deluxe Ocean Suite also takes up to 3. Down on the lower deck, two Superior Suites take 2 each, with no extra bed.
Now post the plan in the chat. Grandparents in the Deluxe Ocean Suite, one family in each upper suite, an aunt and uncle on the main deck, teenagers in the Superior Suites. Each cabin has its own bathroom, air conditioning and hot water. The cabins page shows every cabin in photographs.
Three kinds of group book this boat most. Big families with three generations want an easy pace and a cabin near the dining room. Friends and reunions come for the evenings, the karaoke set and a fair way to split the bill. Hikers and snorkellers want the early starts and long hours in the water.
Each of them has a page with its own cabin plan and its own sum. On the family page it is fourteen people across three generations; on the friends page, eighteen adults and the karaoke set. The hikers' page counts the stairs. Couples, solo travellers, budget groups, photographers, divers and companies have pages as well. Start with whichever one sounds like the people in your chat, because that answer shapes the cabin plan, the pace of the days and the month you go.
The classic loop has eight stops. Kelor is the first one off the boat. Rinca is a trek on dirt paths. Kalong is the sunset, at 17:57 in July, and Padar the sunrise ridge, with real stairs on the way up.
After that come Pink Beach for its coloured sand, Taka Makassar for a sandbank and a snorkel, Manta Point for another snorkel, and Siaba or Sebayur on the last morning. Nothing in the water is promised at any of them: the sea decides what turns up, and the captain decides when you go in.
Each stop has a page of its own below. Start with the two your group will talk about most, Padar for the climbers and Manta Point for the swimmers.
April to November is the dry stretch, when the hiking paths are firm. July and August bring the wind and the busiest anchorages. December to March is wet, with showers, a rougher sea and fewer boats about.
Read the table with your own group in mind. Families with small children look for the calm months; hikers look for the cooler dry-season mornings. Friends start from the dates everyone can fly, and the table shows what the weather does with them. The windy months and the wet months are when a rougher sea matters, so find out early who minds one.
| Month | Sea | Visibility | Mantas | Crowds | Rain | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| January | rough | low | peak | low | wet | This is wet-season water: the showers are heavy and the sea is at its roughest. Underwater visibility is low, other boats are few, and manta sightings are at their best. The captain decides each day where the boat goes. |
| February | rough | low | peak | low | wet | The roughest water and the lowest visibility of the year, and the quietest month on the water. The manta season is at its peak. Anyone prone to seasickness should say so before booking. |
| March | moderate | medium | good | low | wet | Last of the wet months. Showers thin out, the water calms, and the dry months are next. Visibility sits in the middle, the park has room, and the mantas are still around. |
| April | calm | high | fair | medium | dry | The dry season begins. Calm water, some of the clearest visibility you will see all year, and a park with a fair number of boats. A good month for a group with children. |
| May | calm | high | fair | medium | dry | Dry, calm and clear. The sea is flat enough for the whole group to snorkel together, and the paths are firm for the hikes. |
| June | calm | high | fair | medium | dry | Dry and clear, though the south-east wind begins gathering strength on its way to July. The sea is still calm, and the manta season is fair. |
| July | rough | medium | peak | high | dry | Dry but windier, with a rougher sea and medium visibility. The manta season picks up and the park is at its busiest, so the group books early. |
| August | rough | medium | peak | high | dry | Peak wind for the dry season, which means a rough sea and a crowded park. Mantas turn up often. Where the boat goes each day is the captain's call. |
| September | moderate | high | peak | medium | dry | The wind eases and the visibility is high again. The manta season continues and the park is moderately busy, which makes September a strong shoulder month. |
| October | calm | high | fair | medium | dry | Hot, calm and clear, and quieter on the water than July or August. The mornings are the hour for the hikes, and the sea suits a group of mixed swimmers. |
| November | calm | high | fair | low | dry | The end of the dry season: a calm sea, clear water and a quiet park. The Padar sunrise comes early, so the group sets alarms the night before. |
| December | moderate | medium | peak | medium | wet | Rain arrives with the new wet season, and so do the mantas. Expect a middling sea and middling visibility; the last days of December fill up with people on holiday. |

Senada suits groups of 4 to 18 who want a boat to themselves, or two to six people happy to take seats on a shared sailing. The check below says who should look at another boat.
Booking goes through PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, open every day, 08:00 to 20:00 WITA, and the crew of 7 belongs to the boat. The whole booking takes three messages: your group size and dates, the deposit that holds the cabins, then the balance with everyone's names. If the boat cannot sail, the group gets another phinisi of the same class or above on the same dates with nothing extra to pay, or a full refund within 14 days. The how-to-book page has the terms.
The boat sails with its own crew of 7. PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia arranges the booking, the payment and the pickup.
“We watched the most gorgeous sunset while thousands of flying foxes (kalong) started flying above us against the orange sky. The crew knew exactly where to position the boat for the best view.”
“Pink Beach was our favourite spot — the pink sand against that crazy blue water. On the anjungan (front deck) we got gorgeous photos with the sail and open sea behind us.”
“They made our 2nd anniversary absolutely perfect. We got to stand just metres away from an actual Komodo dragon — the ranger was right there. The crew even played our song while we watched the sun go down.”
